  • Rich and creamy: A smooth, decadent texture that melts in your mouth.
  • Customizable: Add your favorite flavors, mix-ins, or toppings.
  • Perfect for gifting: A thoughtful and delicious treat for any occasion.

What Ingredients You’ll Need

To make this decadent fudge, gather the following ingredients:

  • Semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips (for a rich, chocolatey base)
  • Butterscotch chips (to add a hint of caramel flavor)
  • Brown sugar and granulated sugar (for sweetness and depth)
  • Evaporated milk (for a creamy consistency)
  • Butter (to enhance the silky texture)
  • Marshmallow fluff (for a light, fluffy finish and added creaminess)
  • Vanilla extract (to enhance the overall flavor)
  • Chopped nuts (optional for crunch and texture)

Optional toppings: A drizzle of melted chocolate, additional nuts, or a sprinkle of sea salt for an elegant finish.

How to Make Easy Fudge

  1. Melt the chocolate mixture:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl or a double boiler, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, butter, and salt. Heat gently, stirring frequently, until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  2. Add the flavoring:
    • Stir in the vanilla extract once the chocolate mixture is fully melted. If you’re adding mix-ins like nuts or marshmallows, fold them in at this stage.
  3. Pour and set:
    • Line a baking dish with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving an overhang for easy removal. Pour the fudge mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly. Smooth the top with a spatula and add any toppings.
  4. Chill and cut:
    • Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2–3 hours, or until firm. Once set, lift the fudge out of the dish using the parchment overhang, and cut it into squares.
  5. Serve and enjoy:
    • Your rich, creamy fudge is ready to be shared, gifted, or enjoyed with your favorite cup of coffee!

Pro Tips for Perfect Fudge

  1. Use High-Quality Chocolate:
    • The flavor of your fudge depends on the chocolate, so choose a high-quality brand for the best results.
  2. Don’t Overheat the Chocolate:
    • Heat the chocolate mixture gently to avoid burning or seizing. A double boiler is ideal for even melting.
  3. Customize the Flavor:
    • Add a pinch of sea salt on top for a sweet-salty twist or mix in your favorite nuts, candies, or dried fruits for texture.
  4. Line the Pan Well:
    • Use parchment paper or foil with an overhang to make removing and slicing the fudge easier.
  5. Store in Layers:
    • If stacking fudge pieces, separate them with parchment or wax paper to prevent sticking.

Storage Information

  • At room temperature: Store the fudge in an airtight container for up to 1 week. Keep it in a cool, dry place to maintain its texture.
  • In the refrigerator: For longer storage, keep the fudge refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. Bring it to room temperature before serving for the best flavor.
  • In the freezer: Freeze the fudge in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator or at room temperature before enjoying.

FAQ: Easy Fudge

1. Can I use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet or milk chocolate?
Yes! Dark chocolate works well and creates a slightly less sweet fudge. You can also mix different types of chocolate for a custom flavor.

2. Can I add other flavors?
Absolutely! Peppermint extract, almond extract, or orange zest are great additions for unique variations.

3. Why is my fudge grainy?
Grainy fudge can happen if the chocolate overheats or isn’t stirred enough. Heat gently and stir frequently for a smooth result.

4. Can I use evaporated milk instead of sweetened condensed milk?
No, sweetened condensed milk is essential for this recipe because of its sweetness and thick consistency.

5. How can I make fudge vegan?
Use dairy-free chocolate chips, coconut milk (instead of sweetened condensed milk), and plant-based butter to create a vegan version.
