What Ingredients You’ll Need

For the cookie base:

  • All-purpose flour (for a sturdy yet tender cookie)
  • Butter (for a rich and soft texture)
  • Granulated sugar and powdered sugar (to sweeten and create a soft crumb)
  • Eggs (to bind and add richness)
  • Vanilla extract (to enhance the sweetness)
  • Baking powder and baking soda (for leavening and texture)
  • A touch of salt (to balance the sweetness)

  • Butter (softened, for a creamy base)
  • Powdered sugar (to sweeten and create a fluffy texture)
  • Cotton candy flavoring or syrup (for the signature flavor)
  • A drop of pink and blue food coloring (optional, for that whimsical look)

How to Make Copycat Cotton Candy Crumbl Cookies

  1. Prepare the cookie dough:
    • Cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth. Gradually add the dry ingredients—flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt—until a soft dough forms. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes for easier handling.
  2. Shape and bake the cookies:
    • Scoop large portions of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, flattening them slightly to create thick, even cookies. Bake until the edges are set and just golden. Let the cookies cool completely before frosting.
  3. Make the cotton candy frosting:
    • Beat the butter until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and cotton candy flavoring, beating until light and fluffy. Divide the frosting into two bowls and tint one pink and the other blue for a fun cotton candy effect.
  4. Frost the cookies:
    • Spread or pipe the frosting onto the cooled cookies, creating a swirl of pink and blue for a classic cotton candy look. Add sprinkles or edible glitter for extra flair.

Pro Tips for Perfect Cotton Candy Crumbl Cookies

  1. Chill the Dough:
    • Chilled dough spreads less, creating thick, bakery-style cookies.
  2. Don’t Overbake:
    • Remove the cookies from the oven as soon as the edges are set for a soft, chewy texture.
  3. Frost Creatively:
    • Use a piping bag fitted with a star tip to create beautiful frosting swirls.
  4. Customize the Flavor:
    • Add a touch of vanilla or almond extract to the frosting for extra depth.
  5. Decorate with Fun Toppings:
    • Edible glitter, sprinkles, or a small piece of cotton candy elevate the presentation and make them party-ready.
